Critical Illnesses

Life and critical illnesses cover: a payment will be made if the life assured is diagnosed as suffering one of the specified critical conditions the level of critical illness can differ from that of life cover but it cannot be greater than the life cover.

Where a critical illness claim is made and admitted, the life cover will reduce by the amount of the critical illness claim.

Partial permanent disability due to accident according to full continental scale

Accidental death benefit ( double indemnity)

Weekly indemnity  up to 52 weeks of U.S $75 with deferred period of 2 weeks per accident

Weekly indemnity up to 52 weeks of U.S $75 with a waiting period of 3 months on   inception of critical illness

Passive war risks- death

Passive war risks- Disability( whether permanent or total)

Acceleration of 50% of life sum insured on inception of critical illness.  

Emergency payment of U.S. $1500 covering:

Corpse repatriation

Repatriation of sick person to home country

An advance payment of some of the life assurance cover would be made if the life assured is diagnosed as suffering from critical illnesses or undergoes specified surgery, as set out below.  Full definition for the following list is for general guidance only.

 

Cancer: The uncontrolled growth or spread of malignant cells and the invasion of tissue. 

Heart attack: The death of a portion of a heart muscle is a result of inadequate blood supply

Multiple Sclerosis: A disease of the brain and spinal cord with impairment of motor and sensory function which may lead to tremors, double vision or paralysis

Stroke: Insufficient supply of blood to part of the brain producing permanent damage to the nervous system

Kidney Failure: Chronic irreversible failure of both kidneys which requires either transplantation or continuing dialysis.

Major Heart Surgery: By pass surgery to correct the narrowing or blockage of one or more coronary.
Arteries: open heart surgery to replace or repair a heart valve. Surgery: to correct the disease of the aorta.

Major Organ Transplant: Transplantation of a heart, heart on lungs, liver, kidney, pancreas or bone marrow, or being accepted onto an official programs waiting list for such transplantation.

Coma: A state of unconscious with no reaction to external stimulate or internal needs, persisting continuously with the use of life support system for a period of at last hours.

Paralysis: A complete and permanent loss of use of two or more limbs through accident or illness.

Severe Burns: Third degree burns covering at least 20% of the body surface area.

Motor Neuron Disease: Confirmation by a consultant neurologist of a definite diagnosis of motor neuron disease.

Blindness: The total and permanent loss of sight in both eyes.

Deafness: The total and permanent loss of hearing in both ears.

Total Permanent Disability: Permanent inability to follow any gainful occupation due to irreversible disability arising before the life assured reaches age 65 years.
